SA BEST's Frank Pangallo visits the Barossa for a briefing on the Barossa Wine Train
In the week leading up to the end of SA Parliament’s Winter hibernation, SA BEST’s Upper House MLC the Hon. Frank Pangallo MLC, took the time to visit Chateau Tanunda in the Barossa Valley to learn more from John Geber about plans to see a return of the Barossa Wine Train.
Frank was able to see first hand how the Chateau was developed over the past 20 years by its owner – and owner of the BWT – John Geber, before they both sat down to discuss the return of the BWT in more detail.
Frank was also shown the Tanunda Railway Station – also owned by John – and took the time to inspect the controversial Kroemer’s Crossing roundabout (now completed) where the local Barossa Member of Parliament Stephan Knoll (before he was removed from Cabinet for other indiscretions) approved the lifting of 120 metres of the Barossa rail line through the roundabout, severing (for the moment at least) the Northern Barossa and Central Barossa to the tourism benefits of the BWT when it returns to the Valley.
Frank is outraged over the lack of interest by the Marshall Government in the return of the BWT and will continue to pursue the matter in the Upper House.
